Portland Girl #Self-Love Lowdown

Portland Girl #Self-Love Lowdown February is full of propaganda about lovers and partners, but we want to promote the very act of caring for oneself (regardless of your relationship status!) For this weeks post, we’ve gathered a number of Portland-based businesses to curate a fun selection of events, experiences and things to spice up your Valentines Day and engage in some #Self-Love!   1.#Self-Love ‘Booty Care’ BOOTYLUV FITNESS CLASS Booty Luv® Fitness was created to help people, especially women, develop a POSITIVE relationship with their hips, booty, core, and thighs. The fusion of FUN-ctional training, barre, Pilates, yoga, kick-boxing and “booty breakdowns™” increases strength, flexibility, and balance-and it’s all set to dirty bass music with no misogynistic lyrics! Booty Luv® inspires you to love your body and booty for what it can DO, to feel sexy and strong. 2.#Self-Love ‘Story-Style!’ THE MYSTERY BOX SHOW A sex-centric storytelling show where people from all spectrums tell their true, unscripted and unmemorized stories about sex and sexuality on stage in front of a live audience. Many of their stories promote self-love, and self-acceptance as well as allowing audience members to connect and relate to the stories being told that often result in the same self-love realizations. 3. #Self-Love ‘Paint your heart out!’ Ready to get artsy? Mimosa Studios is a paint-your-own-pottery studio located on NE Alberta Street that has been open since 2001. Painters of all ages and abilities are welcomed by their friendly team. Stop in to add a bit of brightness to your Valentines Day!         RED HOT DEAL:  20% off purchase. Portland Girl Spotlight: Caitlin Murray of Purposeful Nomad

Hello beauties, Team Portland Girl is BACK with our “Portland Girl” blog series. In this post, we are featuring a very talented Portland lady-preneur who also happens to be one of our VIP members. Her name is Caitlin Murray. She’s a photographer, an activist, and a seriously amazing spirited gal that we are honored to feature. I’ve been wanting to feature her for months (ever since I found out she ran AMAZING travel programs all over the world)! What kind of a “Portland Girl” are you? I would say I’m a busy entrepreneur who is determined to fulfill my dreams! An accomplished life to me is being able to work in something you love while making a positive impact on the world. I have always had to juggle many different things at once and I have become a master at it. I’m a hyper-organized planner who loves travel, food, the outdoors, being in pajamas, and the beach!   What is your biggest outlet for your creative expression? Now, it has definitely become my work! Thats a good thing because I love what I do. I’m an architectural photographer here in Portland. (www.builtphoto.com) and I recently launched Purposeful Nomad with my business partner, Jessica Scranton. It’s a travel company that provides hands-on, one-of-a-kind programs and retreats for women who are seeking to become challenged, inspired and more connected to the world. This business reflects all the experiences and facets I love about getting out and seeing the world. It is a culmination of both our passions in making a difference and broadening horizons for women globally.  What 1 food and 1 beverage could you...
